12. Santa Sofia de la Piedad

Santa S0fia marries Arcadio after he sleeps with her by mistake, and has a baby girl and twins with him. They are born after he is shot. When Arcadio was about to be shot he requested that she name the girl Ursula, but Santa Sofia insists that he meant she should name her Remedios. The twins are named Jose Arcadio and Aureliano Segundo.(p.131)Sofia also helps Ursula with her bakery. Santa Sofia eventually is taken in by Ursula
